How to pass time in the pub when you’ve arrived half an hour earlier than your mates. You walk into a pub, you’re early, you walk up to the bar and order a pint of bitter. You look at your watch and realise that your mates probably won’t be there for another twenty minutes. What do you do? Twenty minutes of standing on your own, you’ve not got a book, you’ve ditched the newspaper you were reading on the bus, there’s nothing to do apart from watch, listen and slowly sup your pint. At a table by the bar there’s a bloke in a suit, he’s about forty, he’s sat with his legs pushed out in front of him, crossed in a display of alpha male comfort, his arms are elongated and snake around the back of the chair next to him, across from him is a girl about half his age – her whole body seems to be pouring in on itself, she would rather be anywhere but there. You realise you are staring so you move your eyes: there’s a gang of lads laughing in the corner and two men stood by the bar wrapped up in conversation – you wonder what they are talking about, politics? Football? Work? Yes, work that’s it: the intensity of the conversation can only mean that these two are work colleagues and the conversation is about matters, which determine how they spend their days. You take another sup from your pint, you hope that someone will arrive soon, you’ve now grown bored with waiting and making up stories to yourself about the people in the pub and are starting to fear that their eyes will now turn on you, start to wonder what you are doing there, alone, staring and slowly drinking a pint. One of the laughing lads puts a pound in the jukebox, five songs for a pound, it cranks into life, the first chords of the song are unmistakeable, the rhythm instantly sets off millions of sensations in your brain for a few seconds at a time you are no longer in the pub waiting for your mates, you are transported back in time, to the time when that song, that rhythm was the most important thing in your life – that, is That Immortal Jukebox Sensation. |

Reviews - That Imortal Jukebox Sensation
Really really enjoyed this book, brilliant very likable central character! Laugh out loud funny with very witty dialogue and the characters are brilliant! This book is going to be a huge success; I can see it being made into a super cool Brit movie!!
This Author has a very very successful career ahead of him that's for certain. It's one that both men and women will both love!
I laughed out loud reading this book. I couldn't help but like the hapless hero with his built-up resentments, his surreal friend Doctor Costas, and his hatred of his one-time hero and subsequent enemy Danny Cappaldi. Once I started I simply had to know how on earth he would accomplish his dastardly plan for revenge....a roller-coaster of a read.
Don't pack this book in the suitcase for your holidays, because by the time you get there you'll already have read it from cover-to-cover - at least that was my experience.
Once I'd started reading it I couldn't stop - and also embarrassed myself by laughing out loud several times on the plane so that the people sitting around me were checking to make sure that they hadn't got seated next to the nutter.
Manages to be funny, nostalgic & touching all at the same time (and sometimes even in the same paragraph).

Mini Blog :
You’ve just finished you manuscript and now, understandably, you want to submit it to as many people as possible in the hope of getting it published. Many writers send their manuscripts in a ‘raw’ state, fresh of the printer. Do not send your manuscript to a publisher until it is ready to be seen as it could ruin your chances. Be confident that your work is as good as it can be.
